Mr. Ramu is the Managing Director and Founder of GI Group, one of India’s leading eTravel, ePayments and eTransfer player. Mr. Ramu formed the GI Group foundation 2006 with an inherent vision of improving the standard of life for every aspiring Indian by providing simple solutions revolving around convenience and habit formation through GI’s services and products.

GI, today is a market leader in many domains and he has been the driving force in steering the company to new heights of success. He is a strategic leader, spearheads the company’s robust performance along with the support of an efficient and eager team of young leaders. With a widening horizon for the Group’s growth graph in mind, Mr. Ramu has laid out a variety of expansion strategies for the company and team.

GI has fast grown to serve more than 1 crore customers in the under banked segment. More than 35 Lakh ICash wallets were issued in last 15 months to migrant laborers through its 79,000 “ICash Center” agent network across India, making GI the largest remittance player in India. One of GI’s subsidiaries, Hermes has now become India’s first - one stop travel solutions provider.

A management graduate (MMS) from BITS, Pilani, one of India’s oldest and leading institutions, Mr. Ramu is an industry veteran backed with over 18 years of experience. Prior to taking over the reins of the family business in paper trading and establishing GI foundation, he held an impressive track record of working with Morgan Stanley.

Mr. Ramu, has over 18 years of experience, manages the overall administration of the Group as well as foresees the group’s future based on market opportunities and strengths of the group. He also handles relationship with various shareholders in the group, banking and capital market players.

He currently spends his time in consolidating the group companies, forging strategic tie ups among various group companies with other institutions and also charting new areas of growth for each group company.

Mr. RM. PALANIYAPAN

Mr. Palaniyapan has been the driving force for developing and delivering the Group’s technology and new product developments including the recently built Money Remittance and Banking Correspondent (branchless or low cost banking), IMPS remittances which established a significant reception in the market.

A visionary by character, he is ably assisted by a robust tech team for each vertical. He has successfully led and delivered the Pre-paid Payment Card Platform, Travel Hosting and Distribution Technology Platforms on which numerous customized solutions have been built.

He has played a pivotal role in bringing forth new products and services that have been introduced by GI Technology.

His key strength has been his ability to visualise, put his ideas onto the drawing board and develop highly innovative product lines ahead of competitors in the market making all of group companies products and services amongst Top 5 in their industry verticals.

Mr. Palani commenced his professional journey post his graduation degree and has acquired rich and varied experience of over fourteen years.

RM. Palaniyappan graduated from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, one of the premier engineering institutes in India. He now spends a fair portion of his time in the development and establishment of new customer's network in the field of international emerging markets. Apart from this, he also invests his time in the area of new product conception and development as areas as well as all the non-administrative operations.

Mr. SUBHASH KUMAR

An Engineering graduate with 15 Years of work experience in the field of IT and IT Enable Services, and he has worked in the field of Hardware technology, Software sales and E-Commerce before joining the GI Retail Group 13 years back.

He has managed various businesses in the Group including Entertainment, Financial Products and Travel Verticals in various capacities. He focuses on areas of PR with the licensing authority, New Products Roll Out and over all day to day management of the business.

CFO

He is an All India Rank Holder in CA. He has been associated with the Group since its infancy days.

He worked in the Hospitality industry for 15 years before joining the group full time. He joined the GI Retail Group 5 years back and is currently the Chief Financial Officer handling the over all finance, accounts and tax departments apart from interacting with Banks & Financial Institutions and other institutions for commercial contract negotiations.
